accessibility-baseline
Use when writing or modifying HTML, UI components, forms, and dialogs, to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, semantic markup, and keyboard navigability.
Choose how to use this skill
You do not need every option. Choose the path your AI client supports. The stable page stays the same; versioned files are immutable.
1. Native installer
This listing has no registered native installer command. Use the complete package or source fallback below, depending on what your client supports.
Do not guess an installer command or replace an existing version without reviewing the diff.
2. Complete package recommended
Download the ZIP when available. It includes SKILL.md plus the references, security notes and version metadata.
No complete ProSkills package is published for this listing yet.3. Prompt-only
Copy the prompt above when the agent can read the stable page or when you want to adopt the workflow without installing a skill.
Need only the instruction file?
Download SKILL.md only if your client requires a single file. The complete ZIP is safer for a full installation because it preserves the references and release context.
No path installs or executes anything by itself. Your agent still needs access to the project files. Before updating, compare the installed version and review the diff.

SKILL.MD — Modular AI Assistant Engineering Skills
A cross-platform scaffolding toolkit and catalog of curated engineering skills for AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI / Antigravity, OpenAI Codex, Zed, and more).
Whether you are an enterprise team enforcing strict quality gates or a vibe coder building fast prototypes, SKILL.MD provides modular, task-triggered behavioral guidelines that activate only when relevant—keeping assistant context windows lean, focused, and effective.
Quickstart
You can initialize skills directly into any project from the public GitHub repository, or clone the repository to run locally.
🌐 Option 1: Direct from Public Repo (No Clone Needed)
Run directly from inside your project repository without cloning:
Windows (PowerShell)
# Initialize Claude Code skills (default) in current project
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.ps1 | iex
# Initialize for Cursor (.cursor/rules/*.mdc)
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.ps1))) -Tool cursor
# Initialize for all supported assistants with overwrite
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.ps1))) -Tool all -Force
# Target a specific directory
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.ps1))) -Target "C:\path\to\my-app" -Tool cursor
macOS / Linux / WSL (Bash / Zsh)
# Initialize Claude Code skills (default) in current project
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.sh | bash
# Initialize for Cursor (.cursor/rules/*.mdc)
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.sh | bash -s -- --tool cursor
# Initialize for all supported assistants with overwrite
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.sh | bash -s -- --tool all --force
# Target a specific directory
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD/master/init-skills.sh | bash -s -- /path/to/my-app --tool cursor
[!TIP] Windows Users in PowerShell: Use the PowerShell commands under Windows (PowerShell) above. In Windows PowerShell,
curlis aliased toInvoke-WebRequest(which does not accept-fsSL). If you are running Bash/WSL from PowerShell, invokecurl.exeexplicitly (e.g.curl.exe -fsSL ... | bash).
💻 Option 2: Run from Local Repository
Clone or download this repository, then run the initializer targeting your project directory:
git clone https://github.com/JustinANelson/SKILL.MD.git
cd SKILL.MD
Windows (PowerShell / CMD)
# Initialize Claude Code skills in current directory
.\init-skills.ps1
# Initialize for Cursor (.cursor/rules/*.mdc) targeting your app
.\init-skills.ps1 -Target "C:\path\to\my-app" -Tool cursor
# Initialize for all supported assistants with overwrite
.\init-skills.ps1 -Target "C:\path\to\my-app" -Tool all -Force
You can also run directly from Command Prompt via init-skills.bat:
init-skills.bat "C:\path\to\my-app" --tool all
macOS / Linux / WSL (Bash / Zsh)
# Make script executable (first time only)
chmod +x init-skills.sh
# Initialize Claude Code skills in current directory
./init-skills.sh
# Initialize for a specific tool and target
./init-skills.sh /path/to/my-app --tool copilot
# List all available skills
./init-skills.sh --list
Supported AI Assistants & Formats
Using the --tool flag, you can scaffold formats tailored to each assistant's native configuration:
| Tool Flag | Assistant | Generated Files | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
claude (default) | Claude Code | .claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.mdSKILLS.mdAI-TOOL-LOCATIONS.md | Modular Agent Skills with YAML frontmatter |
cursor | Cursor | .cursor/rules/<name>.mdc | Modular MDC rules with glob and apply metadata |
windsurf | Windsurf | .windsurf/rules/<name>.md | Markdown rules with frontmatter triggers |
copilot | GitHub Copilot | .github/copilot-instructions.md | Aggregated repository instructions |
gemini | Gemini CLI / Antigravity | GEMINI.md | Aggregated project instructions doc |
agents | Codex, Zed, Open Agents | AGENTS.md | Standard Agent guideline document |
all | All Assistants | Generates all of the above formats simultaneously |
See templates/AI-TOOL-LOCATIONS.md for full details on each tool's configuration paths.
Skill Catalog (43 Total Skills)
🎨 Vibe Coder Essentials (10 Skills)
Designed to solve the most common frustrations and traps when building apps by prompting. Install with --category vibe-coder-essentials.
| Skill | Solves This Vibe Coding Pain Point | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
auth-flow-guard | Flash of private dashboard UI & null user errors | Rock-solid auth flows: stops flashes of protected content, safely handles null users, and cleans up state on logout. |
build-verification | Pushed to Vercel/Netlify and the build failed red | Zero deployment surprises: runs production builds and TypeScript checks before claiming completion so Vercel/Netlify never fail. |
dark-mode-polish | Unreadable dark-on-dark or white-on-white text | High-contrast themes: ensures modals, inputs, and dropdowns adapt cleanly without unreadable white-on-white or dark-on-dark bugs. |
database-safety | The AI ran --force-reset and wiped all my data | Never wipe data: prevents accidental schema resets (--force-reset), destructive column drops, and protects test/production rows. |
dev-server-sanity | Port drift (3000 vs 3001) and broken OAuth loops | Port and CORS clarity: locks default ports (e.g. 3000), stops OAuth callback mismatches, and prevents CORS traps. |
environment-readiness | Mystery crashes on deploy due to missing .env | Zero deployment amnesia: keeps .env.example synced, validates missing keys gracefully, and prevents runtime crashes. |
loading-and-error-states | White screen freeze or multi-click duplicates | Zero white screens: adds skeleton loaders, disables buttons while submitting, shows error toasts, and designs helpful empty states. |
mobile-ready | Broken mobile layout and horizontal scroll leaks | Clean responsiveness: ensures touch targets (44px+), accessible drawers, and zero horizontal scroll leaks on mobile viewports. |
no-dead-ends | Buttons that do nothing and silent mock data | Honest completion: eliminates fake "dummy" buttons that do nothing, wires forms end-to-end, and flags mock data clearly. |
stack-consistency | The AI installed 3 competing UI frameworks | Stop framework sprawl: reuse existing UI libraries, Tailwind/CSS patterns, and state management instead of mixing rival libraries. |
