project-starter
Sets up a new app project: checks every connected tool works, interviews about the idea, writes CLAUDE.md. Use for 'project starter', 'set up my project', 'new app' or 'write my CLAUDE.md'.
Choose how to use this skill
You do not need every option. Choose the path your AI client supports. The stable page stays the same; versioned files are immutable.
1. Native installer
This listing has no registered native installer command. Use the complete package or source fallback below, depending on what your client supports.
Do not guess an installer command or replace an existing version without reviewing the diff.
2. Complete package recommended
Download the ZIP when available. It includes SKILL.md plus the references, security notes and version metadata.
No complete ProSkills package is published for this listing yet.3. Prompt-only
Copy the prompt above when the agent can read the stable page or when you want to adopt the workflow without installing a skill.
Need only the instruction file?
Download SKILL.md only if your client requires a single file. The complete ZIP is safer for a full installation because it preserves the references and release context.
No path installs or executes anything by itself. Your agent still needs access to the project files. Before updating, compare the installed version and review the diff.

What's a skill?
A skill is a small set of instructions Claude follows whenever it needs them. Install one once, and Claude knows exactly how to do that job your way, every time, without you re-explaining it.
Every skill here is:
- No terminal. Install it by uploading a file in Claude. Use it by asking in plain English.
- Safe by default. Skills check before they change anything, and never ask you to paste secret keys into a chat.
- Plain English. Claude explains what it's doing as it goes.
🧰 Skills
Fourteen skills that follow an app from idea to first customers. Install the ones you need, or all of them.
| Skill | What it does | Download |
|---|---|---|
| Plan it | ||
| Idea to MVP | Turns a rough idea into a small first version and a one-page brief: what it must remember, who already solves it, what's in and what waits. | idea-to-mvp.zip |
| Stack check | Recommends the simplest production stack for your idea and what it'll cost to run, checked against current pricing. | stack-check.zip |
| Sketch it | Shows your app before any code: every screen, text wireframes, layout options, dead ends found, then plain mockups. | sketch-it.zip |
| Set it up | ||
| Project starter | Checks every tool you've connected actually works, interviews you about your idea, then writes CLAUDE.md: your project's rules file. | project-starter.zip |
| Keys checklist | Lists every key and setting your app needs, what it's called and where it goes. Never asks for the values. | keys-checklist.zip |
| Build it | ||
| Safe change | Every change on a branch with save points and a pull request in plain English, and an undo back to any save point. | safe-change.zip |
| Make it yours | Turns a generic-looking app into your brand: colours, type, voice, applied consistently, with before and after. | make-it-yours.zip |
| Check it | ||
| Access check | Who can see what: a page-by-page table for visitors, users and paying members, tested while logged out. | access-check.zip |
| Data check | Every table, what personal data it holds and who can read it, plus exposed keys or open access. Read-only. | data-check.zip |
| Payment test | Runs real checkout scenarios in Stripe's sandbox: paid, declined, refunded, cancelled. Checks access unlocks and receipts arrive. | payment-test.zip |
| Review loop | Is it ready? Six questions, each needing proof, ideally from a fresh session. Ends in go or not yet. | review-loop.zip |
| Ship it | ||
| Deploy doctor | Reads your Vercel build and runtime logs, explains what broke in plain English, and fixes it on a branch. | deploy-doctor.zip |
| Domain helper | Puts your app on your own domain, step by step, including the DNS records and checking it worked. | domain-helper.zip |
| First ten | Finds your first ten users by hand: who they are, where they gather, and one personal message each. Never a mass send. | first-ten.zip |
Want them all? all-skills.zip has every skill. Unzip it, then upload each skill's zip from the zips folder.
⚡ Install in 60 seconds
- Download the skill's
.zipfrom the table above. Don't unzip it. - In Claude Desktop or claude.ai, open Customize → Skills, upload the zip, and make sure it's switched on.
- Start a new chat and ask for it by name, for example: "Use the Project starter skill." Most skills also switch on by themselves when you ask for what they do, like "is my app ready to launch?"
Skills need code execution switched on (Settings → Capabilities). Connectors such as GitHub and Vercel are added in Claude under Customize → Connectors.
🚀 Project starter
The first thing to run on any new project.
1. Checks every connected tool. It lists every connector Claude can see, runs one small read-only check on each to prove the sign-in works, and tells you how to fix anything that fails.
| Tool | Status | What Claude saw |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub | ✓ | 1 repo: my-project |
| Vercel | ✓ | No projects yet |
| Neon | ✓ | No projects yet |
| Stripe | ✓ | Account reached (sandbox) |
| Resend | ✗ | Sign-in expired. Go to Connectors and reconnect Resend |
2. Interviews you about your idea. One question at a time, with tap-to-answer options where it can. It stops when it could explain your app to a stranger in two sentences, and checks it's got it right.
3. Writes CLAUDE.md, your project's rules. Claude reads this file at the start of every session, so you never have
