@pvjbuilds⭐ 35 stars

Hand bulky, already-decided implementation work from the agent you are working in (Claude Code or Codex CLI) to another paid model: Codex (GPT models), Gemini via the Antigravity `agy` CLI, or a Claude Opus subagent. Saves the main session's quota and context. Picks the model from ROUTING.md unless the user names one, and never routes back to the host's own model (except an Opus subagent under an Opus host, which keeps the main context clean). Use for mechanical, large work: scaffolding, boilerplate, repetitive edits across many files, test stubs, docstrings, format conversions, a fully specified function or module, or bulk reading of media and long documents. Also use when the user says /delegate, \"delegate this\", \"send this to Codex/Gemini/Claude\", or \"don't burn tokens on this\". The host always plans, specs and verifies; the delegate only types. Do NOT delegate debugging, architecture, cross-file refactors, security code, anything subtle, or work under ~40 lines.

Choose how to use this skill

You do not need every option. Choose the path your AI client supports. The stable page stays the same; versioned files are immutable.

1. Native installer

This listing has no registered native installer command. Use the complete package or source fallback below, depending on what your client supports.

Do not guess an installer command or replace an existing version without reviewing the diff.

2. Complete package recommended

Download the ZIP when available. It includes SKILL.md plus the references, security notes and version metadata.

No complete ProSkills package is published for this listing yet.

3. Prompt-only

Copy the prompt above when the agent can read the stable page or when you want to adopt the workflow without installing a skill.

Need only the instruction file?

Download SKILL.md only if your client requires a single file. The complete ZIP is safer for a full installation because it preserves the references and release context.

No path installs or executes anything by itself. Your agent still needs access to the project files. Before updating, compare the installed version and review the diff.

delegate-router: multi-model task delegation for Claude Code and Codex CLI

One agent thinks, another types. delegate-router is an agent skill (SKILL.md, the Agent Skills format) for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex CLI that works as an LLM router for coding work. It hands bulky, already-decided work (boilerplate, scaffolding, test stubs, mechanical edits across many files, reading media and long documents) to another model you already pay for: Codex (GPT models), Gemini through the Antigravity agy CLI, or a Claude Opus subagent. The host keeps the design and the verification, and saves its own quota and context.

  • Routing by task, not by habit. ROUTING.md maps each kind of task to an ordered list of models, chosen from independent benchmarks and cost per task. It skips any CLI you don't have, never routes back to the host's own model (except an Opus subagent under an Opus host, which keeps the main context clean), and prefers a model on another of your subscriptions, so the work spreads across the plans you pay for.
  • A judge before every handoff. Four gates (bulk, decided, verifiable, contained) and a never-delegate list (debugging, architecture, security code, anything under ~40 lines).
  • The host always verifies. A delegate's "done" isn't evidence: the host runs the check and reads the diff.
  • Routes that keep up on their own. Every 12 h, model_watch.py notices new models in your CLIs and the vendors' release notes, re-checks the routes against a fresh benchmark snapshot, and tells you when a route should change. A tracker rescaling its scores moves nothing; a model that really beats the holder does.

New in v1.4: work goes to a model on another of your subscriptions first, so your main agent's quota isn't spent twice (how). Each route is judged on its own benchmark, and a route switches only on a cost per task measured on our bench (how). See the changelog.

Interactive diagram: docs/workflow.html (open it locally).

Requirements

  • macOS or Linux, git, python3 3.9+.
  • Your main agent is Claude Code (claude) or Codex CLI (codex), plus at least one more of Codex, Gemini through the Antigravity CLI (agy), or Claude. Other main agents and other providers (DeepSeek, local models) aren't supported yet. Each CLI needs its own subscription or API access; delegate-router adds no accounts and no API keys.
  • Optional: uv and a TypeSafe key, only for Jev.

Install

git clone https://github.com/pvjbuilds/delegate-router ~/.delegate-router
~/.delegate-router/install.sh

Clone to a fixed path: the install links to it, so moving the folder later breaks the links.

The installer finds your CLIs, links the skill, and asks a few questions. Enter takes the default; --yes takes every default. Re-running it keeps your earlier answers.

QuestionDefaultWhat it does
Install for Claude Code?yes, if foundLinks ~/.claude/skills/delegate; no removes that link
Install for Codex CLI?yes, if foundLinks ~/.agents/skills/delegate; no removes that link
Background checks for new models?yesAt most every 12 h, only when the skill runs. No daemon, no cron.
Update the CLI and probe a new model?noUpdates through the channel the CLI came from (Homebrew cask, npm, or its own updater), then sends a one-word, read-only probe
Turn on Jev?noSee Jev

If claude is installed, the installer also links the opus-implementer agent into ~/.claude/agents: both hosts use it to reach Claude Opus.

It never overwrites a file or folder that isn't its own, and never edits your Claude Code or Codex settings. It prints two optional snippets instead:

  • Codex as host. Codex's sandbox blocks network by default, so calling the claude CLI from inside Codex asks for approval. Don't approve it: an approved command runs outside the sandbox. Instead add to ~/.codex/config.toml, which keeps the sandbox on:

    [sandbox_workspace_write]
    network_access = true

  • Claude Code session-start notice. A SessionStart hook that runs model_watch.py status, so new-model notices show when a session opens.

Restart Claude Code or Codex after installing.

Install with an AI agent

Paste this into Claude Code or Codex:

Install delegate-router: clone https://github.com/pvjbuilds/delegate-router to ~/.delegate-router, run ~/.delegate-router/install.sh --yes, show me the two snippets it prints, and tell me to restart.

--yes takes every default and asks nothing. The agent should not apply the printed snippets for you: they change your own settings.

Use

Ask the host to delegate, or type /delegate:

Delegate this: add typed stubs for the 14 endpoints in api/routes.py, one per function, each raising NotImplementedError.

The host judges the task, picks the model, writes the spec, runs the delegate, reads the diff and reports back: what went where, what came back, what it fixed. Name a model to override the map ("send this to Gemini").

Routing, briefly

TaskFirst choiceFallback

Your main agent's own plan is skipped where the row has an alternative, so the work lands on another subscription: on a Codex host, bulk code goes to Claude Opus 5.5; on a Claude Code host, it stays on GPT-6.1 Terra. Must be right and Trivial edits keep their order on every host. To keep your own plan first, say so in your LOCAL.md.

The reasons, effort levels, caveats and the council protocol for when two models disagree are in ROUTING.md. Benchmarks are a prior; a check on the real task beats them.

Staying current

git -C ~/.delegate-router pull

That brings new rules, tasks and bench results. Between releases, model_watch.py tells you what's new, routes included:

python3 ~/.delegate-router/skills/delegate/scripts/model_watch.py status
  • status makes no network calls itself. It lists your delegate CLIs, any new release it found, and any model your CLIs list that ROUTING.md doesn't cover yet. With background checks on, it also starts run --if-due in the background, which goes online at most every 12 h.
  • run does the checking: model catalogs (codex debug models, agy models, Anthropic's models page) and five vendor release-note pages. It's capped at 10 names, and every step, CLI update and probe included, stops at 15 minutes.
  • ack marks everything current as reviewed.

    # Delegate

    **Host** = the agent running this skill (Claude Code or Codex CLI). **Delegate** = another
    model the user also pays for, reached through its own CLI. Each has its own quota.
    **Bulk typing happens in the delegate. Thinking happens in the host.**

    | Host | Delegate |
    | --- | --- |
    | Read the codebase, understand the flow | — |
    | Decide the design, pick the files | — |
    | Write a spec with every decision already made | — |
    | — | Type the code / read the media |
    | Run it, read the diff, verify | — |
    | Fix or re-delegate | — |

    **Verification is always the host's.** "Done" from a delegate is not evidence. Run the check,
    read the diff, and confirm it did what was asked *and nothing else*.

    **Your own rules.** If `${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-~/.config}/delegate-router/LOCAL.md` exists, read
    it first. It is the user's file, outside this repo (CLI paths, effort limits, data gates,
    extra routes); **where it disagrees with this file or ROUTING.md, it wins.**

    ## 1. Judge: every time, before delegating

    Delegating costs the host tokens too: it writes the spec and reads the result.

    **Delegate when ALL of these hold:**

    1. **Bulk:** roughly 40+ lines of output, the same edit across 3+ files, or a large
       media/document read.
    2. **Decided:** no design judgement left. Every choice is in the spec.
    3. **Verifiable:** a command proves it worked (a test, a run, a diff check).
    4. **Contained:** one file, or files that needn't be reasoned about together.

    **Never delegate:**
    - Debugging. Root-causing needs the whole picture.
    - Architecture, interface design, or naming the rest of the codebase depends on.
    - Cross-file refactors whose edits must stay consistent.
    - Security, auth, money or trust-boundary code. A strong reviewer may *review* it; no delegate types it.
    - Anything under ~40 lines. **The spec would be longer than the code.**
    - Anything the user is actively following along with.

    **The honest test:** *if writing the spec takes longer than writing the code, write the
    code.* Say so in one line and move on.

    ## 2. Pick the model

    1. **Check what's installed and new** (offline itself, under a second; with `BACKGROUND=1` it
       may start a detached online check, at most every 12 h):
       `python3 <this skill's folder>/scripts/model_watch.py status`
       It prints the delegate CLIs on this machine, and any new model release it found. If it
       reports something new, tell the user once in one line, then carry on with the current map.
       A line starting `delegate-router: ROUTE ... (applied)` replaces that ROUTING.md row's first
       candidate for this run; `(proposed)` lines are reported to the user, not acted on.
    2. **The user named a model?** Use it. Done.
    3. **Otherwise read [ROUTING.md](ROUTING.md)** (same folder) and take the row that matches the
       task. Walk its candidates in order and take the first one that is **installed**, is
       **not the host's own model**, and **runs on another subscription than the host** when the
       row has one (ROUTING.md, "How to read a row", has the plans and the two rows that skip this).
       One exception: under an Opus host, the `opus-implementer` subagent is allowed, because it
       keeps file reads and tool turns out of the main context. Don't route from memory.

    ## 2b. Scout before the spec (optional, needs Jev)

    Only when `JEV=1` in `~/.config/delegate-router/config.env`. Otherwise skip this step.

    **When:** the task's files aren't named yet, and about 5+ candidate files would otherwise be
    read just to find the ones that matter.

    **Data gate:** scouting sends file paths and contents to TypeSafe. Only public or
    low-sensitivity code. **Never** client work, secrets or config, credentials, personal data.

    ```bash
    cd <repo> && rg -l <term> | uv run --quiet <this skill's folder>/scripts/jev.py scout "<the task in one sentence>" --top 15
    ```

    1. **Read only the top files** needed to design the spec, plus files the task names, and any
       `skipped:` or `(cut)` file that could matter. **A low score is not proof.**
    2. **Put the confirmed file list in the spec**: "Read only these files: …; don't explore
       beyond them unless one imports something you need."
    3. **Verification never uses Jev.** Read the full diff yourself.

    ## 3. Run it

    Write the spec to a temp file first (`packet.md`) and pass it in. **Never print a delegate's
    full output into the host's context**: read its short summary and the diff.

    ### Codex (`codex exec`): agent mode, edits real files

    ```bash
    codex exec -m <model> -c model_reasoning_effort=<effort> \
      --ignore-user-config --ignore-rules -c features.apps=false \
      -s workspace-write -C <repo> -o <tmp>/delegate-out.md \
      "$(cat <tmp>/packet.md)" < /dev/null
    ```

    - **Always pass `-m` and the effort.** Codex's own default model may not be the one you want.
    - **Isolation flags.** The sandbox confines shell commands, not integrations, and a packet
      can carry injected instructions. `--ignore-user-config` skips your `config.toml` (and the
      MCP servers set there), `--ignore-rules` skips execpolicy rules that could allow a command
      outside the sandbox, and `features.apps=false` turns off apps, which are on by default.
      Plugins and admin-managed config can still apply. Login still works; it isn't in that file.
    - **`-o`** writes only the final message to a file. **`< /dev/null`** prevents a stdin hang.
    - **Sandbox:** `workspace-write` to implement, `read-only` to review. Never full access, never
      a `--dangerously-bypass-*` flag.
    - Outside a git repo, add `--skip-git-repo-check`.
    - **Put this in every packet:** "Do not remove or weaken any existing test." Codex's sandbox
      has no network by default, and some models delete tests they can't run or try workarounds
      when access is denied.
    - Run it in the background when the host allows it.

    ### Gemini (`agy -p`): plan mode, text out

    ```bash
    mkdir -p <tmp>/handoff && cd <tmp>/handoff && \
      agy -p "$(cat <tmp>/packet.md)" --model <model> --sandbox --mode plan \
      < /dev/null > <tmp>/gemini-out.txt 2> <tmp>/gemini-err.txt
    ```

    - **Input files:** copy only the files it needs into the handoff folder, name them in the
      prompt, delete the copies afterwards. File content goes to Google.
    - **Code output:** end the spec with "Output ONLY code, no markdown fences, no commentary".
      Strip fences anyway, then write the result to the target file with a short script.
    - `agy -p` is an agent with tools. `--mode plan` stops it editing and `--sandbox` restricts its
      terminal. The handoff folder only decides what it is pointed at: **it is not a read
      boundary**, and `agy` has no switch to turn off your integrations. Send it only packets you
      wrote, never untrusted text. Use its text output only; it doesn't generate images.

    ### Claude: the `opus-implementer` subagent

    - **Host is Claude Code:** use the Agent tool with `subagent_type: "opus-implementer"` and the
      full spec. **Don't pass `model`**: a per-call model overrides the agent definition
      (Opus at medium effort). It spends Claude quota; what it saves is the host's context.
      It runs with **the host session's own permissions**, not a separate sandbox: the same
      prompts and rules as if the host did the edit. For OS-level confinement, turn on Claude
      Code's sandbox (`/sandbox`).
    - **Host is Codex:** run it as a CLI from the repo root. If the Codex session is sandboxed
      (`workspace-write`, not full access), the call runs inside that sandbox and inherits its
      write limits:

      ```bash
      cd <repo> && claude -p --agent opus-implementer --permission-mode acceptEdits \
        "$(cat <tmp>/packet.md)" < /dev/null > <tmp>/claude-out.md
      ```

      Codex's sandbox blocks network by default. **Don't approve the escalation**: an approved
      command runs outside the sandbox. Set `network_access = true` in `~/.codex/config.toml`
      instead (see the README), which keeps the sandbox. Without network, `claude` reports
      "Not logged in".
    - A user hook that writes outside the repo (a cache, a log) fails inside Codex's sandbox and
      can block the prompt while `claude` still exits 0. Check `claude-out.md`, not the exit code.
      If a hook is the cause, add `--settings '{"disableAllHooks":true}'` for this call only.
    - The agent reports back **only** the files changed and the check result, not the code.
    - **Claude as a read-only reviewer** (either host): no command tools, no user settings or MCP,
      file tools confined to the repo:

      ```bash
      cd <repo> && claude -p --restricted --strict-mcp-config --tools "Read,Grep,Glob" \
        --model claude-opus-5-5 --effort medium --permission-mode plan --no-session-persistence \
        "$(cat <tmp>/packet.md)" < /dev/null > <tmp>/review.md
      ```

    ## 4. Write the spec

    Decisions already made. Name the file, the function, the imports, and what must not change.

    Bad, because it needs judgement the delegate doesn't have:
    > Add caching to the API layer.

    Good, because it is mechanical:
    > In `src/api/fetch.py`, wrap `get_user` in `functools.lru_cache(maxsize=512)`. Add
    > `import functools` with the other stdlib imports. Change nothing else in the file.

    Always end with the scope fence **"Change nothing else."**

    ## 5. The loop

    1. **Judge.** Apply the four gates. If any fails, write the code in the host and say why in one line.
    2. **Pick.** The user's named model, otherwise ROUTING.md (installed, not the host, another plan first).
    3. **Scout** (only with Jev on, when 2b applies).
    4. **Spec.** Include the scope fence. For Codex, add the test-safety line.
    5. **Run.** On failure or quota-out, fall through to the next candidate; don't retry the same model.
    6. **Verify.** Run the check. Read the diff. Confirm the scope was respected.
    7. **Report.** Tell the user what went to which model, what came back and what needed fixing.
       Never present unverified output as done.

    If the output is wrong, decide once: re-delegate with a tighter spec, or fix it in the host.
    A second failure means the task wasn't delegable.

    **Cost note:** report the saving when it's material, e.g. "~200 lines typed on Codex quota;
    this session paid for the spec and the review." Don't claim a saving when the spec and
    review cost as much as the code would have.

        model_watch.py run --if-due the same, but only when the last run started >12 h ago.
        model_watch.py routes only the route lines below; starts the background check like `status`.
        model_watch.py ack marks everything currently known as reviewed (after refreshing ROUTING.md).

    `run` also re-checks the Default route rows against a benchmark snapshot (Artificial Analysis with

    # Routing map: which model gets which task

    Snapshot: 2026-11-01

    The delegate skill reads this file to pick a model. Benchmarks are a prior, not proof: **a
    check run on the actual task beats any benchmark.** Neutral benchmarks pick a new model's
    first route; before it takes that route, the maintainer runs it through the bench (`bench/` in the repo
    root) against the model that holds the route now. History: 2026-09-30 said "don't run trial
    calls to confirm them". 2026-10-27 the maintainer changed it to bench each new model on
    routine tasks.

    `git pull` in the repo brings a newer snapshot. `model_watch.py status` says when this file
    is more than 60 days old or when your CLIs list a model it doesn't cover yet.

    ## How to read a row

    Walk the candidates in order and take the first one that:

    1. **is installed** (`model_watch.py status` lists the CLIs),
    2. **is not the host's own model.** Same model, same quota: no gain. One exception: inside
       Claude Code, the `opus-implementer` subagent is allowed even when the host is Opus,
       because it keeps the file reads and tool turns out of the main context, and
    3. **runs on another subscription than the host**, when the row has one installed. The
       subscription goes by CLI: `codex` is the OpenAI plan, `claude` and `opus-implementer` the
       Anthropic plan, `agy` the Google plan. This spreads the work across the plans you pay for.
       If no candidate on another plan is installed, take the first one on the host's plan and say
       so in one line.

    Two rows skip rule 3 and walk in plain order:

    - **Must be right**: correctness matters more than quota.
    - **Trivial edits**: a rename isn't worth a stronger model's quota; the cheap model stays first
      even on the host's plan.

    If nothing in a row qualifies, the host does the work itself.

    ## Default route

    | Task | Candidates, in order | CLI and model ID | Effort |
    |---|---|---|---|
    | **Bulk code** from a written spec: new module, boilerplate, test stubs, many-file mechanical edits | 1. GPT-6.1 Terra<br>2. GPT-6.1 Sol<br>3. Claude Opus 5.5 | `codex` · `gpt-6.1-terra`<br>`codex` · `gpt-6.1-sol`<br>`opus-implementer` · `claude-opus-5-5` | medium<br>high<br>medium |
    | **Must be right**: correctness matters more than quota, terminal-heavy agent work, or a spec the first pick already failed | 1. Claude Opus 5.5<br>2. GPT-6.1 Sol | `opus-implementer` · `claude-opus-5-5`<br>`codex` · `gpt-6.1-sol` | medium<br>high |
    | **Trivial edits**: reformatting, renames, mechanical find-and-replace | 1. GPT-6 Luna<br>2. Claude Opus 5.5 | `codex` · `gpt-6-luna`<br>`opus-implementer` · `claude-opus-5-5` | medium<br>medium |
    | **Images**: screenshots, scanned pages, charts (image files) | 1. GPT-6.1 Terra<br>2. Gemini 3.8 Flash | `codex exec -i <file>` · `gpt-6.1-terra`<br>`agy` · `gemini-3.8-flash-high` | medium<br>(in the ID) |
    | **Media and long reads**: PDF, video, audio, long documents | 1. Gemini 3.8 Flash<br>2. Claude Opus 5.5 | `agy` · `gemini-3.8-flash-high`<br>`opus-implementer` · `claude-opus-5-5` | (in the ID)<br>medium |
    | **Single-file text** with no repo access: a conversion, a fixture, a draft | 1. Gemini 3.8 Flash<br>2. GPT-6.1 Sol | `agy` · `gemini-3.8-flash-high`<br>`codex` · `gpt-6.1-sol` | (in the ID)<br>medium |
    | **Hard reasoning**: maths, proofs, algorithms, science, very large documents | 1. GPT-6 Astra | `codex` · `gpt-6-astra` | low, raise only if needed |
    | **Review**: security review, second opinion on a design or a diff | 1. GPT-6 Astra (read-only)<br>2. Claude Opus 5.5 (read-only) | `codex -s read-only` · `gpt-6-astra`<br>`claude -p --restricted` · `claude-opus-5-5` (SKILL.md has the full command) | low<br>medium |

    **Quota out.** A usage-limit error usually names its reset time. Say it in one line and fall
    through to the next candidate; don't stall. If a CLI call fails, report that model as
    missing, never quietly drop it.

    ## Why these picks

    In our own words; the numbers live on the trackers linked at the bottom.

    - **GPT-6.1 Terra** is the default typist since 2026-11-01, the maintainer's pick to spend
      fewer tokens. On our bench (`bench/`) it passed 10/10 on 2026-10-27, as GPT-6.1 Sol high did,
      on fewer tokens. It runs on the Codex plan's separate quota. After a failed run, escalate to
      GPT-6.1 Sol, then Opus, rather than retrying Terra.
    - **GPT-6.1 Sol** is the second typist. On independent intelligence indexes it lands close to
      Opus at medium effort for a fraction of the cost per task. On terminal and agentic coding
      trackers it leads Terra clearly, so it takes over when Terra fails a packet.
    - **Claude Opus 5.5 at medium effort** is the must-be-right choice and the fallback for
      everything. It leads on agentic tool use and production software engineering. Medium is its
      knee: each step up costs much more per point gained.
    - **Claude Sonnet 5.5 is not routed.** It is cheaper per token but uses far more tokens, so it
      costs more per task at equal quality. **Compare cost per task, not price per token.**
    - **GPT-6 Astra** leads on maths, science, abstract reasoning, very long-context retrieval and
      security work. It is slow and expensive, so it gets hard problems and reviews, not bulk typing.
    - **Gemini 3.8 Flash** is fast and cheap, and strong at video and other media. It is weak at
      multi-step agent work, so it runs in plan mode and only its text output is used.
    - **GPT-6.1 Terra** also reads images. Independent multimodal scores put it at or near the top
      of the field, and it is cheap per task.
      `codex exec -i` takes image files only, so PDF, video and audio stay with Gemini.
    - **GPT-6 Luna** is very cheap and fast but clearly weaker. Mechanical edits only.
    - **Not routed:** Claude Haiku 5.5 (`claude-haiku-5-5`; the strongest small model, but very
      verbose and it spends the Claude quota that cheaper Codex and Gemini tiers spare), Claude
      Haiku 4.5 (replaced by Haiku 5.5), Claude Fable 5.1 (Opus 5.5 scores higher and costs less),
      older GPT and Gemini tiers.

    ## Rules

    - **High effort is the ceiling for a delegate.** xhigh and max buy a few points at 2–3× the
      cost per task.
    - **Reviewers run read-only.** A packet can carry injected instructions; only an implementer
      gets write access. Codex delegates also skip your config and rules and turn apps off (see
      SKILL.md for the flags and what they don't cover).
    - **Caveats to put in every packet:**
      - Codex models: "Do not remove or weaken any existing test." Some GPT models try
        workarounds when access is denied, and Codex's sandbox has no network by default.
      - Gemini: reads media and returns text. It runs in plan mode, so don't ask it to edit files
        or run commands, and it doesn't generate images.
    - **Handoff overhead** (writing the spec, reading the report and the diff) is real. Worth it for
      another quota pool or for keeping the host's context clean; not worth it to move work to a
      model that costs more per task.

    ## When two models disagree (council)

    1. **Blind first.** The reviewer gets the artifact and what it must satisfy, never the host's
       conclusion.
    2. **Adversarial prompt:** "Find what is wrong. Don't validate. If nothing is wrong after a
       thorough look, say so explicitly."
    3. **Classify each finding:** the brief was unclear → real, fix it → real trade-off, the user
       decides → noise.
    4. **Tiebreak:** a benchmark lead settles it only if the question sits squarely in that
       model's lead area **and** the gap is bigger than the error bar. Otherwise run a check on
       the real task, or take it to the user.
    5. **Three rounds at most**, then the user decides.

    ## Keeping this current

    - **For users:** `git pull`. The watch (`model_watch.py`) tells you when a release lands before
      this file catches up. With `AUTO_UPDATE_CLI=1` it also updates the CLI and proves the model
      answers.
    - **Release notes the watch reads:** the Codex changelog, OpenAI news, Anthropic's release
      notes, the Claude Code changelog and Google's Gemini API changelog. Plan access is decided by
      the vendor's own wording ("available in Codex and ChatGPT", "for Pro subscribers").
    - **For the maintainer, on a new model (~15 min):**
      1. Confirm plan access in the vendor's release notes.
      2. Re-read the trackers below for every model in the table, not just the new one.
      3. Bench it: `python3 bench/bench.py codex|claude|agy <model> [effort]`, then the current
         holder of the route it would take. It takes the route only if it passes more tasks, or
         as many for no more cost. Results append to `bench/results.tsv`.
      4. Redo the route table and "Why these picks". Bump the snapshot date.
      5. For a new Opus, update `model:` in `agents/opus-implementer.md`.
      6. Commit, then run `model_watch.py ack`.

    **Trackers**, in order of trust: [Artificial Analysis](https://artificialanalysis.ai) (runs its
    own evals, publishes cost per task) · [BenchLM](https://benchlm.ai) (per-field scores, shows
    uncertainty) · [llm-stats](https://llm-stats.com). Vendor launch posts pick favourable benchmarks.
